Sharon Hannum, chair of the Blount County United  Civic Committee, retired from ALCOA Inc. in 2007 after 30 years of service and has been active in community service in Blount County for many years, serving on and/or chairing more than a dozen boards. She has been recognized with numerous awards for her community service. She is an active member of St. Paul Zion AME Church and a founding member of the Alcoa-Blount NAACP Chapter. She is a mayor-appointed member of the Blount County Commission‘s Budget Committee where she has served for many years and a chaplain in the Blount County jail.  She also serves on the East Tennessee Foundation Board of Trustees.
